A rare cartographic representation of Persia and the Subcontinent, produced by Eugene Andriveau-Goujon in Paris in 1860.

The map delineates English territories, encompassing both direct possessions and Indian protectorate states, as well as the regions governed by the French, Portuguese, the Imam of Muscat, and the independent states of India.

Eugène Andriveau-Goujon (fl.1832–1897)
Eugène Andriveau-Goujon was a map publisher and cartographer active in Paris during the 19th century. Eugène Andriveau established the firm in 1825 after marrying the daughter of map publisher Jean Goujon. It is often difficult to definitively identify maps by Andriveau-Goujon since they were variously inscribed with the names J. Goujon, J. Andriveau, J. Andriveau-Goujon, E. Andriveau-Goujon, or Andriveau-Goujon. This is because multiple generations of the Andriveau-Goujon dynasty would republish older material without revising the imprint. Andriveau transferred the business to his son Gilbert-Gabriel Andriveau-Goujon, who in 1858 further passed it on to his son, Eugène Andriveau-Goujon, who was the most successful manager of the firm. Throughout the 19th century, Andriveau-Goujon published a plethora of exquisite pocket maps and atlases and frequently collaborated with other distinguished French cartographers of the time, including Brue and Levasseur. M. Barrère acquired the firm's stock in 1892.
