This rare print depicts Lord Shiva embodying the qualities of both a family member and a yogi. In this instance, the domestic aspect of the personality is the most prominent. A juvenile Ganesh accompanies Parvati, who sits on Shiv's knee. They also prominently display the lion and the Nandi.

Pune's creative legacy began with prominent individuals such as James Wales and his apprentices, including Gangaram Tambat, who received his education at the first art school in Shaniwar Wada. The foundation of Kelkar Chitrashala by Dada Kelkar became a focal point for budding artists, fostering numerous artistic disciplines within Pune’s lively art scene. Artists such as Vijay Shinde and Dilip Chitre enriched Pune's cultural scene by introducing revolutionary modernist techniques, hence expanding the city's artistic range.

Chitrashala was a pioneering institution in Indian printing and visual arts during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Renowned for its chromolithographic prints, the press played a crucial role in disseminating art and educational materials to the masses. It produced a variety of content, including religious themes, historical imagery, and playing cards tailored for cultural and instructional purposes. Chitrashala's works are considered emblematic of the era's artistic and technological advancements, blending traditional motifs with modern printing techniques.
