Volume one is SIGNED by Kipling on the half title page. The Bombay Edition was printed on paper made especially for it; the endpapers were watermarked “R [elephant-headed Ganesha and lotus] K” on each of the volumes. The first 25 volumes were published between 1913 and 1919 and were limited to 1050 copies. Volume 26 was issued in 1927 in a limited edition of 1000 copies. The last five volumes (which are not part of this set) were published in 1938, two years after Kipling's death, in runs of just 500 copies.
