From Arabia in the west to Kamtschatka in the east, Borneo, and half of Papua New Guinea in the southeast, this intricate engraving covers a wide area and includes details on Arabia, India, Russia, the Chinese Empire, Japan, and the East Indies. Regions delineated by vivid hand colouring. Ranges of mountains separated by hachures.

Sidney Hall (1788?–1831)
He worked as a copperplate printer, cartographer, and engraver. According to Worms and Baynton-Williams in British Map Engravers, Hall was most likely the first engraver to deal with the new, harder steel plates for map work, employing plates made as early as 1821 by the Jacob Perkins technique. Selina Hall, his widow, carried on the business when he passed away at the age of 42. However, the fact that she signed her engravings with the simple initial "S.Hall" has confused bibliographers greatly.
