Thomas Bowen (1733 - March 1790)
He was a Welsh engraver of maps and charts. He had been an apprentice to Emanuel Bowen (1693/4–1767), his father. Throughout the later part of the eighteenth century, his work was printed alongside those of his father and other publishers. On December 25, 1768, he wed Alice Downes. Even back then, it seems like he was not successful and frequently found himself in debt. He worked in collaboration with Richard Reynolds in 1761 while they were detained at King's Bench and had to prepare an inventory of their belongings since they were bankrupt debtors. He passed away in the Clerkenwell workhouse in 1790.
