The oleograph titled Modesty published by the Ravi Varma Press depicts a woman. A rare oleograph to have an English name, it is significant as a marker of Victorian and colonial morality and its view of women in 19th century India. The Ravi Varma Press printed three pictures from the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma capturing the emotions of women. The three emotions are arrogance, reverie and modesty.
