The Standing Parsi Statue, also known as the Khada Parsi Statue, is a 40-feet tall cast-iron monument fountain perched atop a Corinthian pillar with sculptures of four mermaids surrounding the base. It was made honouring the Parsi businessman and educator Seth Cursetjee Manockjee Shroff (1763-1845). He established Alexandra's Girls English Institution, one of Bombay's first institutions for teaching women, in the 18th century. After praising a fountain with a like appearance at the International Exhibition of London in 1862, Cursetjee's son commissioned this one in 1867. Its location is now between two flyovers in Byculla.
