An extremely colourful Kurdish carpet from the Alborz mountains area of North Persia, probably a village in the Bidjar region. The central area of the field shows an arrangement of colourful blooms arranged in a lattice formation, a variant of the classic ‘mina khani’ composition. The flowers are connected with wavy tendrils. Two minor narrow scrolling vine borders surround the narrow central panel and the space between them represents a third major border which has been adorned with huge rosettes.
