A rare Central Asian Julkhyr (meaning bearskin) carpet from the region straddling present-day Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The weaving is made in two halves that have been sewn together to form a squarish shape. The surface of the carpet is covered with interconnected diamond lozenges, each of which is filled with a crab icon. A minimal running dog and ram horns border surrounds the perimeter.
