A beautiful kilim or flat weave from South Persia, possibly woven by a Luri or Qashqai weaver. Three bold mountain peak borders frame three sides of the field which is decorated with horizontal rows of varied iconography comprising people, plants and animals, probably representing elements of the weaver’s own family or tribal group. One of the bands shows a wavy flowing river and four bands contain people and animals.
