This map was part of the interesting atlas Atlas géographique des quatre parties du monde, printed during the French Revolution (1789-1799). Map of Asia published in Paris that includes the Horn of Africa to the Pacific Ocean with outline handcoloring.

Joseph-Nicolas Delisle and Philippe Buache were both French cartographers of the 18th century, and both were members of the French Academy of Sciences. The map is likely to be detailed and accurate, showing the political boundaries, geographical features and major cities of the Asian continent. These maps were probably an important tool for French merchants, military and explorers, providing them with the necessary information to navigate and understand the vast continent of Asia.
