A Caucasian Kazak carpet with a magnificent wide and unusual border. The central panel contains twelve Memling guls, named after Hans Memling, the Flemish painter from the 15 th century. The single major border contains a row of interconnected pairs of large scale rosettes surrounding the entire perimeter of the field.
