A detailed work on the Indian elephant, Sanderson details the natural history and chapters on rounding up and taming elephants. The hunting covers rogue elephants in Mysore and Bengal, numerous tiger encounters, also panther and leopard. A title which ran to many editions, seldom found in this condition, the author was the government officer for elephant catching in Mysore.
