This is plate 6 from 'Hindoostan Scenery consisting of Twelve Select Views in India' by Francis Jukes (1746-1812) and Thomas Anburey (1759-1840). This view shows the great hilltop fortress at Golconda, near Hyderabad. The kingdom of Golconda was the capital of the Qutb Shahi kings who ruled the area between 1507 and 1687. The tombs of the kings are visible to the right side of the fort. (Source: British Library Board, online)
