A South Persian carpet, probably woven by a Bakhtiari artisan. The composition shows a colourful grid and faces of a man and a woman, probably to commemorate their wedding. The grid is filled with shamanic icons, animals and various zoomorphic forms, and inscribed with the word “Allah” in several panels. An elegant mountain peak border frames the carpet.
