A Turkmen carpet, probably woven by an artisan from the Yomud tribe in the Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan area. The central panel contains seven horizontal rows of interconnected crabs. Eight horizontal rows of scrolling waves or running dogs create separator panels for the rows of crabs. Abstract tree shapes adorn the border and supplementary chevron devices decorate the top and bottom ends.
