A South Persian carpet, probably woven by a Khamseh artisan in a small village workshop. The central panel is filled with large scale abstract floral icons on an abrashed indigo field. An unusually wide major border frames the rug and is itself decorated with colourful diagonal sets of four paisley botehs arranged in a cross formation and interconnected through a single scrolling vine stalk.
