A Kurdish carpet from Northwest Persia. The field contains a fully integrated lattice of adjacent diamond shapes, each of which is filled with a crab icon. Of particular note are two rows of four legged animals at the top and bottom ends. The composition is framed by a border of abstract star flowers and a clever reciprocal sawtooth outer border
