A Kurdish carpet from Northwest Persia. The field contains three large diamonds in the vertical central axis, outlined by birdheads and rams horns. The field is completely dotted with whimsical flora and fauna icons. Of particular note are two rows of four-legged animals at the top and bottom ends. The composition is framed by a wide border of abstract star flowers.
