A South Persian carpet, probably woven by a Qashqai artisan. The composition shows a diamond shaped central pool with two large flowers at either end, both contained within a large diamond with serrated sides. Four uneven spandrels add to the naïve charm of the weaving, which is also completely filled with numerous zoomorphic elements. A narrow scrolling vine border frames the composition.
