A Kurdish carpet from the Northeast Persian area of Khorasan. The field contains twenty four Memling guls, named after Hans Memling, the Flemish painter from the 15th century. The border system is playfully filled with various talismanic icons. The random changes in design and border sizes are all original and demonstrate the naivete of a true tribal weaver’s work from her imagination.
