The book highlights the various ideals Mahatma Gandhi put forward for a better India. The book contains Gandhi’s vision and also pictorial depiction of his idea of a bigger and better India. Apart from the fact that it is one of the physical embodiments of Gandhian principles for the nation and the self, this book is even more special because of a printed handwritten note by J B Kripalani at the beginning. J B Kripalani was the Congress President in the crucial years leading up to independence. The depiction of Gandhian ideals is in a simple, thought provoking image form. Some of the salient depictions are those of Communal Harmony, Women Empowerment, Cleanliness and Hygiene and Respecting tribes and their culture. Most pictures are hand drawn, minimalist and convey a larger picture by means of small but culturally significant motifs. The depiction is simplistic yet multi-layered.
