Album titled India, September 1872 of fifty-six photographs of Calcutta (25) including the seven-part Panorama of Calcutta Maidan measuring 7.5 x 12.5 in (18.9 x 31.6 cm) (each), Benaras (5), Agra (10), Delhi (10), Cawnpore (3), Allahabad (1), Bombay (2), albumen prints mounted on card and captioned in ink on mounts in the same unknown hand, two per page on 4 pages, one per page on 52 pages at recto only. Size of each photograph with nine measuring approx. 4.25 x 5.75 in (10.5 x 14.6 cm)., the remaining vary between 7.25 x 9.75 in (18.5 x 24.5 cm) or 9.25 x 11.5 in (23.6 x 29.4 cm). Album size: 12.75 x 16.25 x 12.75 in (32.5 x 41 x 32.5 cm). Mount Size: 12.25 x 15.25 in (31 x 38.5 cm). Contemporary leather bound in brown leather with gold tooling to the covers including the title “INDIA SEPTEMBER 1872”. All edges gilt.

Thirty-one photographs are signed and numbered in the negative by Bourne (nos. 1706,1698,1708,1709,1716,1717,1718,1719,1720,1721,1725,1727,1165,1167,1169,1174,1177,1074,1075,1078,1080,
