The Matzine Studio in Shimla was started by Lala Lachhi Ram, who later went on to establish the Photo Service Company in the year 1927 in Kashmere Gate, Delhi. After his demise, his son Dev Raj Sud took over the business until it finally closed its operations in the year 1999.
