Profound, detailed text considered a substantial contribution to the knowledge of the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra and Karnali rivers. Geographical observations including flora and fauna and tracing the sources of the four major rivers of the region. Notes of travel to previously unaccessed, Western Tibet. His extensive, dedicated travels from 1928 to 1944 solidified his legend as perhaps the world's expert on the Kailas, and the Neten-Yelak-jung ridge, so named by Pranavananda himself. As a result of these writings the Swami became a member by invitation of the Royal Geographical Society.
