Considered one of Gould's greatest achievements, the Birds of Great Britain was in production longer than any of his other works, taking 34 years from 1862-1873. This migratory bird comes to India during winters.
Though Gould himself sketched most of his plates, other artists such as his wife Elizabeth, Edward Lear, Joseph Wolf, William Hart and Henry C. Richter finished them.
