The author's fourteenth novel, ostensibly the sequel to "Half a Life," this wonderful and wise novel takes us into the hearts and minds of those who use terrorism to further their warped view of the world.
V S Naipaul was born in Trinidad in 1932. He went to England on a scholarship in 1950. After four years at University College, Oxford, he began to write, and since then has followed no other profession. He has published more than twenty books of fiction and nonfiction, including "Half a Life," "A House for Mr Biswas," "A Bend in the River," and a collection of letters, "Between Father and Son."
In 1971, Naipaul became the first person of Indian origin to win a Booker Prize for his book "In a Free State." Naipaul was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1990 and awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2001.
