CHATTERJEE'S PICTURE ALBUMS Nos. 1, 2, 3

Each issue measures 11 x 9 inches and has paintings largely by Bengal School artists, many of them well-known and others forgotten today.
Each issue also has one page of notes on the paintings.
The 3 issues offered have 47 colour plates in all. [In No. 2, Plate 10 - THE DAY'S REWARD by Jamini Prakash Ganguly - is lacking]
The album was issued by Ramananda Chatterjee, editor of the monthly TheModernReview, in the 1920s.
The 3 isssues include works by Chughtai, Haldar, Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Gaganendranath Tagore among others.
The issues were printed by U. Ray & Sons, Calcutta, owned by Satyajit Ray's family.
CONDITION: Fine. No. 1 has a tear on spine. No. 2 lacks 1 plate.
There were 17 volumes in all in this series.
