CONDITION: Original binding in full golden cloth. Covers a little soiled but not worn. Original floral golden endpapers. A short 1906 Press cutting of Varma's obituary pasted on front endpaper.

The first book on an Indian artist and the only one published in Ravi Varma's lifetime. Ramananda Chatterjee, the doyen of early 20th century journalism, owned the Indian Press at this time and later moved to Calcutta to start and edit the influential The Modern Review.

This lot will be sold in "as is" condition.
There may be some minor tears/creases scratches, or holes commensurate with age that may not be visible in the images.
