The foregoing illustrations have been mainly selected from the extreme series of photographs of the "People of India" as reproduced in the department. The grouping and arrangement of the different subjects is by the author. Their photographic reproductions is by W. Griggs, and the colouring of the copies, designed more perfectly to illustrate the costumes of the people, has been done under the author's directions by H. Wills and J. Foley.

This lot will be sold in "as is" condition.
There may be some minor tears/creases scratches, or holes commensurate with age that may not be visible in the images.

The technology and material for printing and binding books has evolved over the last few centuries.
