A description of wild life sports of India during colonial times, based on the experiences of British officer who served in the Bengal Army for 20 years. The work was originally issued in 20 monthly parts between 1805 and 1807. The book includes an engraved pictorial title with 40 dramatic aquatint plates, all attractively coloured by hand. Captain Williamson (d. 1817) was also theauthor of the first travel guide to India written for Westerners, "The East India Vade Mecum".
