Warli paintings from Maharashtra were painted on the walls of the dwellings of the Warli tribe. It is now painted on paper or cloth. The base is prepared with cowdung and mud, and painted with rice paste. The subject for these paintings are mostly drawn from nature or based on their folklore and rituals.
