These paintings are vivid impressions of the historic events of the regent and also an expression of the painters veneration of the religious rituals and customs of the land. Nathdwara pichwais are a ritual art form, an offering to the deities. The themes revolve around the lord Shri Krishna in the form of Srinaathji. Other then these, other themes are also made such as court scenes, women in the garden, floral and animal motive etc.
