a) SPREADING OF SEEDS BY SHIVA AND PARVATI:
The painting depicts the Warli legend of how seeds spread and grew on earth. According to Warli folklore , when creation took place there was not a single tree. As a result instability of the Earth took place. So Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati devised a plan to stablise Earth. They spread and scattered seeds all over Earth. On right hand side of the canvas Balu Mashe has painted Mahadev ( Lord Shiva) and on the left hand side of the canvas is Gangagovri (Parvati) .They respectively planted seeds on their chosen side of the world. It took them twelve years to complete the job and finally meet
b) PRAYER TO TIGER GOD:
Balu Mashe has painted a tiger , that is the God of the Warlis. One of the villagers is praying to the tiger. He is asking the Tiger god to protect the village from all illnesses and calamities. The artist has also painted the home of the Tiger God which looks like a cave.
