Mayank Kumar Shyam (born1987) was initiated into painting by his late father internationally acclaimed gond painter Jangarh Singh Shyam. He has received the training from his father right from his childhood thereby making a space for himself in the world of art in India as well as abroad. He has been using technical black pen more often with lots of colour but more challenging. He was featured in 'Freedom' sixty years after Independence (Art and Heritage Foundation 2007), along with legends like Rabindranath Tagore, Paramjit and Arpita Singh, and other contemporary artists.

Mayank Shyam, has developed a unique language quite different. His lines are deliberate and precise rather than free-flowing. Almost always working with pen and ink on canvas or paper, he explores urban yet quasi-mythical landscapes.
His works were included in the Indian Contemporary Art auction at Sotheby's, New York.
In 2006 Mayank was conferred the state award by the Hasta Shilpa Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam, Bhopal.
