Johny Mera Naam is director Vijay Anand’s smash hit film from the 1970s. It stars Dev Anand and Pran as two separated brothers, and features Hema Malini, Jeevan, Premnath, I. S. Johar and Iftekhar. Its success prompted a Kana remake—Apoorva Sangama, a Telugu remake— Eduruleni Manishi, and a Tamil version. It was the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year.
Baarish is directed by Shankar Mukherjee and stars Dev Anand, Helen, Anwar Hussain, Nutan, Madan Puri, Kumkum, Gope, Jagdish Sethi, Lalita Pawar, Nana Palsikar, and Mehmood. It was first released at Mumbai's Novelty cinema, and was based on Marlon Brando's “On The Waterfront”, directed by Elia Kazan.
