About Beyond The Walls
Ahmedabad Walls is a tactile exhibition featuring Patrick Geddes' Notes on Ahmedabad (1915), coalesced with contemporary aerial photographs of Ahmedabad by Robert D. Stephens. Notes on Ahmedabad encapsulates Scottish Polymath Patrick Geddes' town planning report for the city and specifically his defence of the five-hundred-year-old City Walls. The additional archival material on exhibit includes unpublished correspondence with the Government of Bombay and more than thirty rare books by (and about) Geddes from 1879 -1972.
