About Lighthouse - A hope in the darkness

Since the dawn of shipping, mariners have eagerly scanned the horizons for lighthouses. These lighthouses have been functioning as a guiding force to the mariners in their navigation, beckoning towards safer shores and helping them for staying away from off shores dangers.

Rajesh Madao , a self taught Travel and Documentary has been passionately looking at these lighthouses for more than two years now. Based out of Mumbai, his work has been published in various magazines and publications. His series of street photographs were featured by famous Mexican Street Photographer and Photojournalist Alex Coghe. He was also shortlisted in JEEVIKA ASIA Documentary competition and was selected for National Exhibition "Frames of India" organized by Kalanirvana, World Art Critic, Hyderabad. His stint of commercial assignments includes Calendar Shoot for PIRAMAL HEALTHCARE and was designated as official photographer for Chess Olympiad for Blind held in India. His style of photography includes simple compositions with a tinge of story line in it. In his words " A lighthouse signifies a will, an undying passion to shed veils of obscurity by being a guiding force for the mankind. A lighthouse is a hope in the darkness ".
