J.P. Singhal was known for many things: a prolific calendar artist whose works sold over 800 million copies, a photorealist painter who captured the rural and tribal cultures of India on his canvas, and an exemplary master of fine art exploring mythological subjects and more. In his later years, Singhal achieved great success in the Bollywood film industry as well.

 

Turning his creative eye to the Silver Screen, Singhal designed and shot several publicity campaigns for over 1500 films. To name  a few like ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, ‘Border’, ‘Gadar-Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Tezaab’, including renowned Modern artist M.F. Husain’s ‘Gaja Gamini’ and ‘Meenaxi’. Singhal’s style of painting, marked by a delicate, ethereal quality that he rendered to his subjects, seeped into his photographs too. Our StoryLTD collection has on offer some of J.P.
